GABRIELĖ ADOMAITYTĖ
Gabrielė Adomaitytė (b. 1994, Kaunas, Lithuania) lives and works between Brussels, Vilnius and Milan. She received her BA in Sculpture from the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2017 and was an artist-in-residence at De Ateliers in Amsterdam from 2017 to 2019.
Her work analyzes painterly representation and its intersection with digitization. Through investigating mnemonic devices, Adomaitytė’s utilized methodologies draw on alternative systems for archiving information. By transposing these networks into the slower, analogue realm of painting, examined collections of imagery function as mental aids or enhancers of cultural memory.
Adomaitytė’s work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions internationally: Sapieha Palace, Vilnius, Lithuania (2025), C L E A R I N G, Los Angeles (2024), Medūza, Vilnius (2023), Gratin, New York (2023), Kunsthalle Kohta, Helsinki (2023), T293, Rome (2022), Zuzeum, Riga (2021), Annet Gelink Gallery, Amsterdam (2020), De Ateliers, Amsterdam (2019), Vartai Gallery, Vilnius (2019) and Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius (2018).
